Better health begins with ideas
Editor's Note There is no place like home for the holidays, or so goes the famous Christmas song, but our first piece reports data showing that interstate travel is surging to levels not seen since early March, despite warnings from the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention of the likely consequences. Our next piece looks at the psychological toll from prolonged isolation in the coronavirus pandemic and identifies useful strategies for its mitigation, including exercise and video-chatting with friends and family. The coronavirus, however, is not the only public health priority. Our next author highlights how menstrual health continues to be overlooked in emergency responses across the globe and in pro-poor programs. Wrapping up our final piece discusses the lessons to be learned from countries that have adopted universal health care. We wish health and happiness to our readers celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday and gratitude for this opportunity to connect with you. —Thomas J. Bollyky, Editor
