As the COVID-19 crisis continues to grow in the United States, our contributors this week offer data-driven analyses of mask effectiveness of masks, pandemic preparedness across the world, and the need for a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Southeast Asia. Two other contributors explore systemic racism in mammography guidelines and gender-based violence in Afghanistan.
