Tom Frieden

Tom Frieden is president and CEO of Resolve to Save Lives, a global nonprofit organization that partners with countries around the world to scale up solutions to the world's deadliest health threats. Frieden is a physician trained in internal medicine, infectious diseases, public health, and epidemiology. He is former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), former commissioner of the New York City Health Department, and author of the forthcoming book, The Formula for Better Health: How to Save Millions of Lives—Including Your Own (MIT Press, September 30). He is a former senior fellow for Global Health at the Council on Foreign Relations.
