Better health begins with ideas
Editors' Note As people around the world enter the third week of protests following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Think Global Health contributors continue to explore the racial and social inequities that COVID-19 has exposed. One writer this week lays out the need for a pro-poor and pro-Black response to COVID-19, calling for us to plan now for equitable vaccine distribution and to rethink how testing is organized. One feature gives a deep dive into Russia, now with the third-worst COVID-19 outbreak in the world behind the United States and Brazil. Other contributors consider how the threats of climate change and coronavirus are colliding in the Bay of Bengal, ongoing problems with Sweden's coronavirus response, and the potential for consumer technology to advance disease surveillance without running afoul of privacy concerns.
