Stephen Hargarten, MD, MPH, is professor of emergency medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, senior injury and policy advisor at the Comprehensive Injury Center, and founding dean of global health at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and coauthor of Tracking the World Health Organization’s Attention to Firearm Violence, 2000–2025 (Global Coalition for WHO Action on Gun Violence, 2025).
