Snehal A. Patel

Snehal Patel is a physician and attorney based in Singapore. He is currently the managing director of Saena Partners, an investment company, and has co-founded several health-care startups in the region. 



Patel received an MD from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a JD from Columbia Law School, becoming the first student to graduate with both degrees in six years. Upon graduation, he served as a Clinical Fellow at the Harvard Medical School and was offered a Fulbright scholarship to study the differences between the Singaporean and U.S. health-care systems.

Prior to moving to Singapore in 2008 to found and lead an investment team for the Clermont Group, a multi-billion dollar investment fund based in Singapore, he practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, LLP, in New York. He co-founded Proof, Saena Partners, MyDoc and other businesses in 2012 after leaving a role as senior vice president at the Clermont Group where he led investments in health-care businesses in South and Southeast Asia.

He has spoken on numerous panels related to entrepreneurship and health care globally, including the Milken Global Conference and the Economist Future of Health Care Week Asia. He also served as a three-time judge for the Health and Science section of the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list, and is a member of the Society of Kauffman Fellows.
