Shingai Machingaidze

Shingai Machingaidze is an epidemiologist and public health specialist. She has fourteen years of experience in the public health and clinical research fields where she has gained considerable experience leading workforce development programs that build the capacity of Africa-based scientists and institutions. Her expertise includes conducting and managing clinical trials and clinical research; managing research grants and finances; advising and supporting public health programmes; as well as managing strategic partnerships and engagements with national, regional and international agencies. Shingai previously worked with the European Commission funded European and Developing Countries Clinical Trial Partnership (EDCTP), the Medical Research Council the National Institute of Communicable Diseases in South Africa, as well as the University of Cape Town.  Shingai Machingaidze is a well-published author with over forty publications, with some in leading international medical journals. She is an alumna of ADVAC (Advanced Course of Vaccinology), a member of faculty for the Vaccines for Africa (VACFA) Annual Vaccinology Course as well as a Future Africa Forum Fellow. She is currently the Senior Science Officer in the Office of the Director at Africa CDC as well as the CPHIA 2022 Secretariat Lead.
