Ruby Wang, MD/MBBS, MA, MMSc, FRSM, is an honorary fellow on global public health at the Asia Society Policy Institute’s Center for China Analysis. Wang is a physician, consultant, and writer whose work bridges health-care systems, technology, and innovation between China and the West. She is the founder and managing director of LINTRIS Health, a strategy consultancy advising governments, multilateral organizations and industries across Asia, Europe and the United States on health, life sciences, and technology.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wang worked on the hospital frontlines for the UK National Health Service before serving as head of health at the British Embassy in Beijing, leading bilateral health policy and programs for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. She also worked as a health advisor to the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China.
Wang is a regular public speaker and writer on media platforms, and founded China Health Pulse, a widely read newsletter and podcast spotlighting key trends in China’s health, policy, and innovation landscape. Her forthcoming book examines the global impact of China’s rapid biotech and digital health transformation.
She sits on the Digital Health Council at the UK Royal Society of Medicine, the Health x Space Taskforce, BiteLabs, and the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network. She has been recognized as a Rising Star in Entrepreneurship by The China Project, a Health Innovation Fellow at Global Women Asia, and an Aspen Rising Leaders Fellow.
Born in China and raised in the United Kingdom, Dr. Wang trained and practiced in medicine at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford, and University College London. She holds a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Cambridge and a master’s degree in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar.
