Ahmed Ogwell is a Kenyan public health leader with 30 years of experience across national, regional, and global levels. He is the CEO and president of VillageReach. Previously, he served as vice president for global health strategy at the UN Foundation and as deputy director general and acting CEO of Africa CDC, guiding Africa’s response to COVID-19 and other health threats. Dr. Ogwell has held roles at WHO and Kenya’s Ministry of Health and is an alumnus of the University of Nairobi, the Centre for International Health at the University of Bergen, and Harvard Business School.
