Vin Gupta

Vin Gupta, MD, MPA, is Assistant Professor of Health Metrics Sciences and Global Health at the University of Washington and term member at the Council on Foreign Relations. A lung specialist by training, he has spent the past fifteen years working worldwide to improve public health for organizations, including roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, and the Pentagon’s Center for Global Health Engagement. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he helps lead a grant at IHME focused on the global burden of disease from tobacco products. Separately, he serves as a regular health policy analyst for NBC News and other media outlets.
