Uwem F. Ekpo is a professor of parasitology and epidemiology at Akwa Ibom State University and a WHO temporary advisor. Over more than two decades, he has become one of Nigeria’s foremost experts on neglected tropical diseases, leading pioneering work to map schistosomiasis nationwide and inform national control policy.
