Suren Kanayan is an obstetrician-gynecologist and health administrator based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He currently serves as administration manager at Central Hospital and previously led obstetric and gynecologic services at rural and urban hospitals across Cambodia, including as director of obstetrics and gynecology at a tertiary hospital in southern Cambodia from 2015 to 2017. He has worked with international maternal and newborn health initiatives, including as an international expert with the GIZ/GFA Muskoka project in Cambodia. He has also contributed to academic and health-systems work at the National University of Singapore. His professional focus includes maternal health-systems strengthening, clinical governance, quality improvement, and mentoring health-care teams in low-resource settings.
