Richard Brennan

Richard Brennan is the Regional Emergency Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Region. He is an emergency and public health physician with extensive experience in health emergencies in more than thirty-five countries. Previously he spent seven years at WHO headquarters, including as Director of Emergency Operations and Director of Ebola Coordination and Response. Prior to joining the WHO, Brennan was Health Director at the International Rescue Committee in New York, Chief of Party for JSI Research and Training in Liberia, and Visiting Scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta and Honolulu.
