Mary Assunta

Mary Assunta is Head of Global Research and Advocacy at Global Center for Good Governance in Tobacco Control (GGTC) and a Partner in STOP, and principal author of the Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index. She is a Luther Terry Award (2003) recipient for outstanding leadership in tobacco control, representing low- and middle-income countries in many platforms to counter and debunk tobacco industry tactics. She has more than 20 years of experience in international tobacco control advocacy. Mary is the principal author of the Global Tobacco Industry Interference Index. She has a doctorate in public health from the University of Sydney – School of Public Health, where she serves as an adjunct senior lecturer.
