Justin Onwenu

Justin Onwenu is a Detroit-based environmental justice organizer with the Sierra Club. He fights for clean air and clean, affordable water for all communities. This has included advocating for city ordinances that protect drinking water, securing funds that protect community health, and working with local residents to shape policy. He currently serves as the youngest member of the State of Michigan’s Inaugural Advisory Council on Environmental Justice and was also recently appointed to the Democratic National Committee’s Environment and Climate Crisis Council Platform Committee.
