Reid Adler

Reid Adler is the chief legal officer of VistaGen Therapeutics, Inc., and a lecturer for the graduate program in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. Adler is the founder of InnovationMatters, providing training and consulting for innovation management. Previously in private practice, his clients have included several multinational pharmaceutical companies and CEPI. Adler was the founding director of the NIH Office of Technology Transfer. He received a JD from the George Washington University Law School and a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park. Following law school, Adler clerked for Judge Giles Rich at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. After that, he was a fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich, Germany. He has testified before Congress on technology transfer policy, published numerous articles, and taught graduate courses in the legal aspects of biotechnology, strategic planning, and technology transfer.
