Arwa Mokdad

Arwa Mokdad is an honors senior at the University of Washington studying International Studies. Her studies focus on human rights in the Middle East. As a child of Arab immigrants to the United States, she is passionate about peace efforts and activism in the region. She has spent time in Egypt, Turkey, Qatar, Lebanon, Yemen, Oman, U.A.E, and Jordan. Growing up between the United States and Middle East solidified her global perspective on regional challenges. Currently, Arwa is working on a cultural webinar series “Beyond the War” that aims to build international solidarity with Yemeni communities. Arwa volunteers with Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation as a peace advocate. Through this work, she supports aid programs in Yemen and participates in anti-war campaigns in the United States.
